- 1 lb. italian sausage (I used ground and it worked well for this recipe)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/2 tsp. fennel seeds (whole, crushed)
- 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2/3 cup half and half
- 2 Tbsp. tomato paste
- 1 lb. rigatoni
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley leaves (chopped, or 1 teaspoon dried parsley)
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese (divided)
