- 1/3 cup milk (instant dry)
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa powder
- 1 cup water
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 Tbsp. canola oil
- 1 tsp. red food coloring (liquid)
- 4 oz. cream cheese
- 3 Tbsp. powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 Tbsp. heavy cream
- chopped nuts (as garnish, optional)

Directions
- In a large bowl, measure out flour, instant dry milk, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sugar and cocoa powder. Stir together gently using KitchenAid® 9-Speed Hand Mixer. Set aside.
- In a large liquid measuring cup, whisk water, egg, vanilla, oil and red food coloring together to combine.
- Slowly pour wet ingredients into the dry while stirring using Hand Mixer. Once combined, scrape the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula and mix again briefly.
