Description
Move over, applesauce: Mixed red fruits (even frozen ones, as here) can also be used as the basis for a "sauce" that can be enjoyed on its own, either hot or cold, or as a side dish for roast chicken or pork (or as a topping for potato pancakes). Including a bit of honey along with the sugar adds depth of flavor, and white pepper a subtle hint of spice.
Ingredients

Directions
- Place all ingredients in a saucepan and cook for 15 minutes over low heat. Stir occasionally to prevent it from sticking to the pot. If you prefer the sauce without chunks, puree at the end with the stick blender or regular blender.
