- 1 handful flat leaf parsley
- 2 tsp. lemon zest
- frying oil (such as safflower or canola, about 1/2 inch in wide pan)
- lemon wedges (to serve)
- 1 Tbsp. olive (canola or safflower oil)
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 onion (quartered and thinly sliced)
- 2 apples (such as Gala or Honeycrisp, peeled, quartered and sliced)
- white cabbage (1 small, 1 pound, trimmed, quartered, cored and shredded)
- 1 tsp. caraway seed (1/3 palmful)
- 1 tsp. cumin seed (1/3 palmful)
- 1 pinch ground allspice
- 3 juniper berries (optional)
- 2 bay leaves
