- 3 1/2 cups rice (we had to use Japanese rice because it was available, however a long grain or non-sticky rice would work better in this dish to avoid clumps)
- 3 1/2 cups water
- 400 grams macaroni
- 200 grams spaghetti (angel hair)
- 400 grams brown lentils (packet, or substitute with canned lentils)
- 400 grams chickpeas (drained)
- 1 brown onion (sliced into thin strips)
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 3 Tbsp. tomato paste
- garlic salt (to taste)
