- 3 cups masa harina
- 1 cup vegetable shortening (or other fat such as olive oil, corn oil, butter, lard)

- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 cups liquid (water, stock or a portion of the carnitas cooking liquid)

Great! My first time making tamales. I used a rolling pin and waxed paper to spread the masa as I like a thinner layer than what I was able to achieve by hand. Filled them with pork carnita meat and my family loved them!
