- 250 grams cheese (creamy, I mixed 125 grams of finely shredded Gouda cheese with 125 grams of fancy shredded mexican blend, use any kind you like, but no feta, the cheese needs to melt)
- 2 eggs (1 whole egg and the white from the other egg, but save the yolk for the egg wash)
- 1/2 cup buttermilk (or full fat milk)
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt (full fat)
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp. salt (I use kosher, if using regular saltreduce the amount to ¾ tsp)
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. instant yeast (if using active dry kind, make sure to activate before adding)
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 200 grams unsalted butter (very soft, for spreading the layers)
- 1 Tbsp. cream (or milk)
