- 2 large onions (peeled and cut into large pieces)
- 48 oz. chicken broth
- 3 lb. butternut squash (peeled, seeded, and cut into 1-inch chunks)
- 3 mcintosh apples (large, or your favorite apple, peeled, cored, and cut into 1-inch pieces)
- 3/4 cup long grain rice
- 2 tsp. ground cumin
- 2 tsp. ground ginger
- 1 tsp. grated nutmeg
- 1 pt. half and half (r 1 pint milk, for a thinner consistency)
- salt (to taste)
