I have prepared these potatoes many times primarily for holiday dinners. The recipe can easily convert to serve a crowd. I always get compliments from family and friends. Can be prepared ahead of time and reheated for potlucks. The fennel puts it above the usual potatoes at gratin. Don’t skimp on the cheese: use gruyere and you will taste the difference.
