- 2 cans apple pie filling (21 oz each, preferably with a hint of cinnamon, see NOTES)

- 1 1/4 cups water
- 5 Tbsp. unsalted butter
- 2 Tbsp. onions (dehydrated, OR- 1 small onion, chopped)
