Made this soup per recipe and it was very nourishing. Really a basic soup for salt of the earth people

My version was Poor Irish/Grenadian Soup. I used canned ham because it was cheaper, local chayote (christophine) instead of potato as I have type 1 diabetes and like to eat low carb, added carrot for colour. For flavouring, I added a bay leaf and some turmeric powder. Very yummy.
