- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 1/4 tsp. cloves
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil (or more if needed)
- 1 Tbsp. chopped parsley (fresh, for garnish, optional)
- 2 carrots (medium, shredded fine)
- 1 onion (small, minced)
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1/2 tsp. salt (or more to taste)
- 1/4 tsp. pepper (or more to taste)
- 1 qt. chicken stock (or vegetable stock)
- 3/4 cup frozen peas (optional)
