- 1 cauliflower (. 1 Medium size or ½ of a Large)
- 200 grams potato
- 1 medium onion
- 1/4 cup basmati rice (Gobindibhog / aromatic, 1/4 cup)
- 1 tsp. ginger paste
- 1 tsp. spices (Bengali five, Paanchforon or Cumin seeds)
- 1 inch cinnamon stick
- 3 cloves
- 2 green cardamom pods
- 1 tsp. cumin powder (Jeera)
- 1 tsp. coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 green chili
- 1 tsp. chilli powder (Kashmiri Red, you can use more according to your taste)
- 1 tsp. Garam Masala
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1 handful raisins
- 2 tsp. ghee (or clarified butter)
- vegetable oil (as required, I use mustard oil as it is a traditional Bengali recipe but you can use any vegetable oil you like)
- salt (to taste)
- 3 coriander leaves (chopped, for garnishing, optional)
