This was delicious! I didn’t have cream or whole milk; used 2%. I didn’t have brandy but I had a pear liqueur that worked out nicely. Like someone else commented, it took longer than 45 minutes to bake. It was probably more like 1 hour. This dish was so easy to make! This recipe is a keeper.

What a nice surprise. Had pears on the way out and didn’t want to waste them. Do include the brandy (I used Hennessy Cognac). Lovely consistency. I baked for 15 min longer than the recipe. Too soupy after only 45 min

I have used the first recipe and absolutely love it! I have a very prolific fig tree but am allergic to figs. When I make a fig dessert for my husband only, this fits the bill with the milk and eggs. I don't add ginger. He says the fig version is better than the pear version!

The flavor of this was delicious but mine didn’t really poof up. Probably something I did wrong – I also did not slice the pears thinly enough. I definitely will try this again

Very good. Had a nice custard appearance and taste. I used extra pears (4) so I could get rid of what I had. Used the half cream, half milk recipe.
