- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 12 Tbsp. butter (softened, 1½ sticks)
- 2 extra-large eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
- chocolate ganache (Ingredients)
- 4 oz. dark chocolate (high quality, I use 70% cacao)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 Tbsp. butter (optional, see notes)
