  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion (peeled and finely chopped)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 2/3 cups tomato sauce
  • 2 1/2 ounces mushrooms (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 8 ounces pasta shells
  • fresh parsley (chopped, to serve)
  • Parmesan cheese (grated, to serve)

    Directions

    1. Heat oil in a large saucepan over high heat and sauté onion for 2-3 mins, until tender. Add ground beef and brown. Add tomato sauce, mushrooms, wine and 1/2 cup water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and add pasta. Simmer for 15-20 mins, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender. Season. Serve with parsley and Parmesan.
