Ingredients

- 300 grams basmati rice
- 1/2 cup ghee (seems like a lot but trust me on this)
- bay leaf
- star anise
- cardamom
- spices
- 4 cups onions (sliced)
- 5 green chillies (adjust to taste)
- 2 inches ginger (piece of)
- 6 cloves garlic (note that Indian ones are smaller in size so use fewer if using the larger kind)
- coriander leaves (A fistful of)
- mint leaves (A fistful of, I didn't have any)
- 300 grams chicken drumsticks (or any pieces you prefer)
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. Biryani Masala (we use and like Eastern brand)
- 3 Tbsp. curd (plain)
- 200 mL coconut milk (thick)
- 1/4 cup cashew nuts
