- 1/4 cup palm sugar (raw honey, molasses or maple syrup., Note, if using a liquid sweetener, your sauce may not be as thick, but will taste just as great.)
- 2 lemons (organic, OR 2 T. raw apple cider vinegar, or use a little of both)
- 24 oz. ketchup (organic)
- 2 Tbsp. mustard
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder
- 3 Tbsp. soy sauce (fermented)
- sea salt
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- liquid smoke (Update: I recently bought some, with an ingredient label that looked pretty OK!, and used 1/8 tsp. – start out small like that and you can always add more if you like the taste. I thought it was good!)
