  • 1 Orange
  • 1/4 cup blanched almonds (toasted)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup ground almonds
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

    Directions

    1. Place unpeeled orange in medium saucepan. Cover with cold water, bring to a boil. Boil, covered, for 50-60 mins, until tender. Drain. Cool.
    2. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease an 8 x 12 inch baking pan. Line base and sides with baking paper, extending paper 1 inch above edges.
    3. Place toasted almonds and 2 tbsp sugar in a food processor or blender. Process until finely chopped.
