I could tell this was going to be a tad bland so I added garlic clove, onion powder (diced onions would be better) I added 1 cup veggie broth (no beef available in cupboard) 1 cup water. Squirt of tomato paste (I buy in a tube) added a bit more water. But not too much. Very easy. I used fire roasted diced tomatoes.

Kind of bland, honestly. Maybe I put in a little too much beef broth and water, because it definitely came out more "soupy" than I was expecting, but at least it was edible. I really wish the author of this recipe had specified quantities when writing this. Used fusilli instead of macaroni, a 15-oz can of diced tomatoes, and 2 cups each of beef broth and water. I made a lucky guess with the tomatoes, but next time I might use less beef broth...except it did a good job of cooking the noodles, so maybe that was the right amount after all. I still wish the recipe had been clearer about quantities
