- 3 Tbsp. smoked paprika (or sweet, or a combination of the two)
- 1 Tbsp. kosher salt
- 1 Tbsp. freshly ground pepper
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 large onion (peeled and diced)
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 red bell peppers (green and/or, finely chopped)
- 1 bunch parsley
- 500 grams crushed tomatoes
- 2 cups vegetable broth (or water, enough to almost cover the chicken)
- 500 grams spaetzle (store-bought is fine)

I made this dish twice. The first time, I used a little too much liquid. I used Hot Hungarian paprika which my son liked. It was a little spicy for me. I made it a second time and used half hot Hungarian and half regular paprika. I also was patient enough to simmer the dish long enough for the liquid to reach the correct consistency. It was perfect!
