- 1 1/2 cups beef (or vegetable, if you want this to be vegetarian broth)
- 15 oz. tomatoes (whole, crushed)
- 15 oz. tomato sauce (or puree)
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. dried oregano
- 1 tsp. dried thyme
