- 1 cup canola oil
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 3 cans tomato sauce (8 ounces each)
- 2 cans red chile sauce (10 ounces each)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 lb. corn husks (dried, soaked in water overnight)
- 1 1/2 lb. lard (second choice: vegetable shortening)
- 5 lb. masa (fresh ground, NOT masa harina)
- 1 cup broth (from beef and pork mixture, or low sodium beef broth)
- 5 tsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbsp. salt
