- 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper

- 1 egg
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil (divided)
- 1 lb. beef short ribs (1-2 pieces)
- 1 lb. olive oil (1 tablespoon)
- 1/2 white onion (finely chopped)
- 4 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 Tbsp. tomato paste
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- 1 tsp. dried parsley
- 1 tsp. dried basil
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 cans crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
- 2 cans tomatoes (28 oz. strained, can substitute tomato puree)
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
