- 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil (for sauce)
- 2 tsp. salt (for sauce)
- 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes (for sauce)
- 2 Tbsp. tomato paste
- 2 cans canned tomatoes (preferably San Marzano, 28 oz. per can)
- 1 lb. 80% lean ground beef (preferably course ground chuck)
- 1 lb. ground pork (preferably course ground butt)
- 2 tsp. salt (for meatballs)
- 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes (for meatballs)
- 1/2 tsp. ground fennel
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup Italian style breadcrumbs (unseasoned)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil (for meatballs)
- grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)

AMAZING!! Took me a little longer than 80 minutes, but boy was it worth it! Best meatballs AND sauce I've ever had, the whole family loved it too, even my onion haters.

Perfect! this will be my go to red sauce forever! I'm going to fry my balls in good olive oil then finish cooking them in the sauce till done.

Turned out great, I slow cooked the sauce for like 6 hours, and I left my feta cheese in chunks, and the meatballs turned out incredible!
