- 1 cup onion (grated, using the large holes of a box grater)
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley

- 1 tsp. anchovy paste (optional)
- 1 lb. ground beef (preferably 80 percent lean and 20 percent fat)
- 1 lb. ground pork
- 1 lb. lasagna noodles (dried)
- 30 oz. ricotta
- 3 eggs (slightly beaten)
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan
- 1/2 cup chopped basil (fresh)
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg (preferably freshly grated)
