- 4 star anise pods

- 1 rutabaga (cut into 3⁄4″ pieces)
- 8 cups water (or vegetable stock)
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 1/2 cup raisins (sultana)
- 3 Tbsp. kosher salt (as preferred)
