- 100 grams unsalted butter (softened, plus extra for greasing)
- 50 grams cocoa powder (good quality)
- 90 mL boiling water
- 3 large free range eggs
- 4 Tbsp. milk
- 175 grams self raising flour (sifted)
- 1 baking powder (rounded tsp, sifted into the flour)
- 300 grams golden caster sugar
- 1 Orange
- 150 grams chocolate (Bournville, broken into small pieces)
- 150 mL double cream
- 3 Tbsp. apricot jam
- 100 grams dark chocolate (good quality, 55-60 per cent cocoa solids made into curls)
