- 1 1/2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 6 mushrooms (chopped sliced)
- 12 bacon (rashers)
- 1 large onion (peeled and chopped)
- 1 yellow pepper (deseeded and chopped)
- 1 red pepper (deseeded and chopped)
- 2 sticks celery (finely sliced)
- 3 scallions (spring onions, chopped)
- 1 red chilli (finely chopped, remove the seeds if you don’t like it too hot)
- 3 cloves garlic (peeled and minced)
- 4 Tbsp. tomato puree (/paste)
- 1 chicken (or vegetable stock cube crumbed)
- 120 mL red wine (1/2 cup)
- 1 can chopped tomatoes (in juice)
- 1/2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp. dried thyme
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 pinch salt
