The flavor was lacking. It didnt have a depth of flavor. I did not put in the sweet potatoes and used siracha as the hot sauce (recipe does not specify what kind of hot sauce). The meat did not take on the flavor of the sauce. I slow cooked on low for 7 hours. I did not brown first, I dont know if that would have altered the tenderness any though. It was not a waste as I just added in some ingredients to make the sauce taste better and sliced the meat to make it easier to chew.
