- 20 gravy (koftas for the, and freeze the rest.)
- 600 grams lotus root (peeled and thoroughly washed)
- 1/4 cup cilantro (chopped)
- 3/4 Tbsp. ginger (minced)
- 1/3 cup besan (/ chana dal flour, add more if required)
- salt
- chilli powder
- canola oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup onion (ground)
- 1/2 cup tomato puree (use canned for better color)
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. ginger garlic paste
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. white poppy seeds (khus khus/, sesame or sunflower seeds or cashews can be used in its place)
- 1 cup fresh spinach (chopped)
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 1 tsp. Garam Masala
- 1/4 tsp. cardamom powder (green)
- 1 tsp. turmeric powder
- 1 tsp. chilli powder
- salt (to taste)
- 3 Tbsp. canola oil
