- brandy (rum, or liquor of your choice; for soaking, optional)
- 1 cup cream cheese (at room temperature)
- 1/2 cup sugar (Baker's Special, or granulated sugar)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar (divided)
- 1 cup frozen cranberries (or fresh, washed and dried)
