- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 2 shallots (medium, peeled, minced)
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 pkg. asparagus
- 1/2 lemon
- pepper
- parmigiano reggiano cheese (about 1/2 cup)

Directions
- Working in batches heat 1 tbsp olive oil with half of the minced shallots and garlic in a large saute pan on medium heat until aromatic, about 1 min
- Add half of asparagus to pan. Cook, turning, until tender and slightly browned, about 5 min. Transfer to a platter, repeat with remaining oil, shallots, garlic and asparagus
- Squeeze lemon over asparagus. Season with salt/pepper; sprinkle with cheese

I made this for my wife and I the other night. Came out perfectly. Slightly browning asparagus on the stove makes them perfect. Shallots and garlic add some nice texture, while the lemon and cheese round out everything.
