Really good cake! I didn’t do the frosting instead I used my leftover lemon juice w a few tbs of powdered sugar and maybe 1/4-1/2 tsp of leftover zest and just poked holes in the top of the cake all over w my toothpick I used to test if it was done, to pour over the top of it to soak in and give just a little more moisture and extra zing of lemon because I like it lemony and it was just a fantastic cake! Oh I also sprinkled w powdered sugar to contrast perfectly w the extra lemon zing! I cooked mine in an 8” springform and it didn’t need nearly 45-50 min it only needed about 35 maybe less...I would set it for 30 and check it bcuz nothing worse than a dry pound cake that’s over baked although that lemon drizzle w help w that if that happens 😬..I will absolutely recommend it and make it again and give it 5 stars... but this is Smitten Kitchen an absolutely fantastic site w the best recipes, funny and well rounded dialogue thanks SK!....;)
