Weeknight dinner doldrums? This Greek-inspired Lemon Chicken will snap you out of it. We’ve paired garlicky, lemony chicken with salty, herbaceous orzo to wake up your palate and get you through the week. This dish is easy enough for a weeknight but also elegant enough for weekend entertaining. And, as always, we use every possible bit of our ingredients, right down to the garlic paper and feta water. Waste not one scrap!

  • 1 cup orzo (or more if desired)
  • 7 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 0.25 ounces feta cheese (or more to taste)
  • 1/2 cup feta water
  • 7 cloves garlic
  • 2 teaspoons Aleppo chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons dried dill
  • 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup white wine

    Directions

    1. Equipment: large pan for chicken, small pot for orzo, grater, strainer
    2. In your small pot, add water and season heavily with salt. Once the water is boiling, add the orzo to the pot.
    3. Place your large pan over high heat. Grab your chicken thighs and season both sides generously with salt and pepper. Drizzle the pan with olive oil and add 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the chicken thighs to the hot pan.

    its so good. we used what we had in the pantry so chicken breast instead of thighs and parm instead of feta. since i didnt have the feta water i added some chicken broth to the sauce mixture. after the breasts were fully cooked i sliced them up ans let them sinmer a bit longer in the juices. so delicious and definetly will make again!

    So delicious and easy! The chicken was so tender and moist and the dill was a fresh flavor. I substituted rice for orzo since I’m gluten-free and it worked well. 5 stars!

    Could not get this right for some reason and consider myself a decent cook I will chalk it up to not being a lemon fan but The texture of the feta on the noodles was a little too sloppy and didn’t feel like the taste was interesting enough Again this is just my experience :/

    Overall. Loved the flavors. Used a different chili powder with a dash of cayenne. Really brightened the flavor of orzo. I had to double recipe for my family so I’m always mindful that in doubling sometimes I have to add more or less of something not completely doubled and so I didn’t have enough chicken even with 15 chicken thighs. Would prefer in any recipe that an approx. weight would be included or an interpretation of “med. onion” as related to size or amount. Also, in my opinion. 6 mins per side for chicken is too long. Again with an understanding of size would help.

    The proportions for the orzo seasoning seem to be off, came out way to spicy. Chicken and the sauce were really good though.

    It was really good! I’m not going to use thighs again because the prep was difficult and they don’t look as appealing as chicken breast. I also subbed chicken broth for the wine which made it more rich

    This was really yummy! I didn’t have the wine or the chili powder. I used low sodium chicken broth and left out the chili powder. I love lemons and this definitely had lots of lemon flavor. Oh, I also took the skin off the garlic and chopped slightly. I just couldn’t handle leaving the skins on! 🤓I fixed the rest as is. I will use more feta in the orzo next time. Loved the touch of dill.
    It was ok i honestly thought that feta water was a typo. My feta is always dry so i had to skip that.

    The chicken was super tender and juicy and the flavors blended together really well. I really liked the feta so next time we will add more. Also we substituted the orzo for rice and it was really good.

    The written instructions leave some things unclear. My boyfriend and I had to add to the sauce because ours didn’t stay while the thighs were cooking. Over all not bad flavours though

    This was delightful. I substituted chicken breasts for thighs, but it still packed a lot of flavor. The orzo with dill and feta was incredible. It took me about a half hour start to finish, so still relatively quick to make. Will definitely make again, great find.

    Good! I just want to know (and might be missing something where it’s listed) how many servings this makes for nutritional purposes.

    We really enjoyed this. We used 1tsp of dill instead of 2TBSP and felt we could've gone even less, or use a different seasoning (I really like dill, but not everyone does). Overall though, we really liked it.
