  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature, 1/2 stick)
  • 6 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 4 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup lemon zest (freshly graded, 2-3 lemons - again, they must have crazy big lemons in Washington DC! :)
