- 2 rashers (streaky bacon)
- 2 onions (medium)
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 carrots
- 2 sticks celery
- olive oil
- 2 tsp. dried oregano
- 500 grams minced beef (good quality, pork, or, even better! a mixture of the two [I used beef])
- 400 grams chopped tomatoes (tins of)
- sea salt
- freshly ground black pepper
- 1 bunch fresh basil
- 50 grams Parmesan cheese ([I don't like Parmesan, so I replaced this with Cheddar])
- 250 grams lasagne (dried egg, sheets)
- 500 mL creme fraiche (tub of)
- 100 grams Parmesan cheese ([again, I subbed this for Cheddar])
- 1 tomato (large ripe)
