- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1 apple (grated sweet, no need to peel)
- 1 Tbsp. toasted sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1/2 red bell pepper (de-seeded and sliced)
- 1/2 yellow bell pepper (de-seeded and sliced)
- 4 slices bread (from a large loaf I used tiger bread)
- 2 Tbsp. salted butter (melted)
- 1/4 tsp. sesame seeds
- 75 grams mature cheddar cheese (grated)
- 1/2 red onion (small, peeled and sliced)
- 2 jalapenos (small, sliced)
- 3 scallions (spring onions, sliced into thin strips)
- 3 Tbsp. mayonnaise
- 2 tsp. sweet chilli sauce

A bit time consuming, but definitely worth it. The marinade does caramelize pretty quickly, so make sure to have a vent on, but we added the bits of charred apple to the sandwich for an extra bite of sweetness. This is a great comfort food dish but doesnt leave you feeling weighed down. We will definitely make it again.
