- 2 lb. sirloin (thinly sliced, here's a secret: I get the butcher to slice it for me!)
- 1 Tbsp. cooking oil (for the grill, I used peanut oil)
- 6 Tbsp. gluten-free soy sauce (or tamari)
- 3 Tbsp. dark brown sugar (organic)
- 2 Tbsp. rice wine (mirin)
- 1 Tbsp. toasted sesame oil
- 1/2 onion (organic, peeled and thinly sliced)
- 3 cloves garlic (peeled and pressed)
- 1 apple (organic, peeled and grated, I think that traditionally it's made with pears)
- 1 tsp. fresh ginger (peeled and grated)
- 1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1 lb. fresh asparagus
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- water
- 2 Tbsp. gochujang (Korean red chili pepper paste)
- 3 Tbsp. rice vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. gluten (free soy sauce or tamari)
- 1 clove garlic (peeled and diced)
- 1 tsp. sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp. sesame seeds
