- 1/2 cup basmati (or kalajeera rice, note if you want to use brown rice, see my note on substitution)
- 1 tsp. cumin (powdered)
- 1 tsp. coriander (powdered)
- 1 tsp. ginger (freshly grated)
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper powder
- 1 tsp. salt (or to taste)
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric
- 1 yukon gold potato (medium sized, peeled and cubed)
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 cup frozen green peas
- 1 Tbsp. ghee (or coconut oil)
- 1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
- 2 whole red chillies (dried)
- 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper (optional)
- 2 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
- 1 chopped cilantro (tablesoon)
