- 1 1/2 cups poha (thick,, beaten rice)
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
- 1 Tbsp. peanuts
- 2 green chilies (chopped finely)
- 6 leaves (curry)
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
- 1 pinch asafoetida (or hing)
- 1/3 cup chopped onions
- 1 cup potato (cubed)
- salt (to taste)
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp. cilantro (or coriander leaves finely chopped)
- 1 Tbsp. coconut (desiccated)
- 1 poha (use thick, variety, thin poha is for crispy poha chivda. 2 Every brand has different quality of poha. So always try and you will get to know you brand and type of poha. E.g. some poha requires 2 minutes soaking, some requires 5 minutes soaking. While some does not require any soaking at all, for those kind only wash and keep them moisten for few minutes and it will be ready.)
