Wow, I was blown away.. It is so delicious, I didn't have buttermilk so I substituted with milk and vinegar my dough seemed to be a bit wet so I couldn't knead it. I thought it wouldn't rise but it did and came out perfectly. Thank you for the recipe. It made me really happy. ❤️South Africa

This bread was absolutely delicious. I have been trying to find a bread recipe comprable to what I had in Ireland this past fall. I did substitute steel-cut Irish oats for the old fashioned oats it turned out great. I like the little bit of sweetness. I did use brown sugar instead of white. I will definitely make this again. 😊

I used 1.5 cups soya milk instead of buttermilk. That is just enough to bind all dry ingredients together. It don’t rise at all. Texture is very closed. Is that what the Irish brown bread should be? Please advise.

It was extremely dry. 1 1/4 cups of butter milk is not enough. I added more. In the oven now we’ll see. Please explain what the consistency should be
