- 1/2 tsp. turmeric
- 8 oz. baby spinach (coarsely chopped)
- 4 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 onion (finely chopped)
- 2 green chilies (minced)
- 2 Tbsp. garlic ginger paste (recipe link below)
- 1/4 cup tomatoes
- 2 Tbsp. tomato paste
- 1 tsp. salt (to start. You are going to need more. Adjust to taste.)

The lentils cooked WAY faster and turned into an exploded blob. Had to take the small amount af salvageable lentils and add it to the pan with the spinach and keep adding more water. I’m sure it was user error but it didn’t turn out at all. The only thing that made it edible was the incredible flavor from all of the spices. I gave it 3 stars because I think it would turn out great if a more experienced cook was making the meal.

Had no spinach do we used zucchini instead. Loved the garlic. Ginger hater in the family lived this too! Red lentils cooked quicker than the recipe said. Used a can of petite diced tomatoes.

Perfect. I don’t find the lentils take as long as it says but. Great tempering and fantastic flavour. Careful with the amount of tumeric if you add! Keep it as stated or even a hair less. Will totally make again
