- 1/4 cup almond flour (unblanched or blanched)
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
- 1 1/2 tsp. ginger (minced)
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. chili powder
- 2 tsp. garam masala (homemade)
- 1/2 tsp. green cardamom (ground)
- 1/2 tsp. ground turmeric
- 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp. bay leaves (crushed)
- 1/4 tsp. chili powder (or more Kashmiri, or cayenne pepper for heat, optional, if you like it spicy)
- 2 lb. boneless skinless chicken (cut into bite-sized pieces, brown chicken meat produces the most flavor. You can also use bone-in chicken)
- 2 Tbsp. ghee (can substitute oil or butter)
- 1 yellow onion (large, finely chopped)
- 1 tsp. minced garlic
- 1 tsp. ginger (minced)
- 14 oz. tomato purée (can substitute plain tomato sauce)
- 1 cardamom pods (black)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 5/16 cup heavy cream
- freshly chopped cilantro (for garnish)
