First time that the black eyed peas were the first dish finished on New Years Day. My daughter thought it was fancy chile con queso.

I baked mine for about an hour. 20 mins wasnt enough time for me. I did not drain off the juice from the beans or chilis as I wanted as much of their flavors in the dip as possible 😋. I did reduce and add cheese to a skillet to help thicken the dip. Then transfered to a baking dish for an hour, adding finishing cheese within the last 10 minutes. Turned out really tasty and had no left overs. I loved that I still had enough time to go to the store, get dressed, and prepare a great New Year's dish that people gave me a lot of compliments on. I will make again!
