- 3 lb. beef roast (chuck roast/chuck shoulder/round roast/rump roast/bottom round all work well!)
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup apple juice
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 6 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 cloves garlic (minced or pushed through a garlic press)
- 1 tsp. sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- jasmine rice (When Served as an Entree, also cook)
- flour tortillas (For tacos: Quick Asian Slaw (see recipe below), Sour Cream, Hot Sauce (optional), Fresh Chopped Cilantro (optional))
- 16 oz. coleslaw (cabbage-based, from the produce section at the store, plain cabbage or cabbage with carrots both work great!)
- 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar (or white)
- 2 Tbsp. honey
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil (or canola oil)
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. sesame oil
- 1 clove garlic (fresh, minced or pushed through a garlic press)
- 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes (dried, optional)
