- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder

- 1 tsp. cornstarch
- 2 lb. boneless chicken breasts (or thighs)
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil (organic, divided)
- 1/2 onion (medium, coarsely chopped)
- 1/2 medium red bell pepper (seeded and coarsely chopped)
- 1 cup asparagus (chopped, broccoli, snow peas, bok choy, or a combination)
- 1 cup gluten free soy sauce (or Tamari)
- 1/3 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
- 1/2 Orange
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 Tbsp. bourbon (dark rum, white wine or dry vermouth, optional, use white wine or vermouth for gluten-free)
- 3 inches fresh ginger (piece of, peeled and thinly sliced)
- 3 cloves garlic (peeled and crushed)
- brown rice (or Steamed white, kept warm)
- chives (Sliced, or scallions, for garnish, optional)
