It was amazing!!! I couldn’t find vanilla bean paste anywhere, so I made it without it. It was absolutely the best banana cream pie I have ever made. It’s my son’s favorite kind of pie and he inhaled this pie.

I really like this recipe (though I make my own crust). I did find that the custard didn’t set up as well as I would have liked though

I have not ventured into making the crust. I use frozen store bought. However, the pie filling and whip cream recipes are easy to follow and delicious!

So I thought the bananas went into the pie filling so I made a half of a pie because I only had 2 bananas and I didn’t have heavy cream so I had to make it but it was by far the best pie I’ve ever had

Great! I used 2 1/2 cups half and half in place of the milk and cream for the pudding, I also added 1/4 cup more sugar and since I didn’t have vanilla paste I used a total of 1 1/2 tablespoons of vanilla. Also I sliced 3 ripe bananas into the pudding and mixed together before putting into pie shell.

the vanilla pudding is excellent excellent excellent. I am really bad at baking so the pie crust didn't turn out too well, but I think it can be replaced by a base of crushed plain biscuits mixed with some melted butter and warm milk. I tried the bananas before and it was great, and this time I was out of bananas and replaces them with fresh mangoes and that was also wonderful. Guess a lot of fruits can work

4.5 stars. I didn’t make the crust; I used Trader Joe’s frozen pie crust (which is great by the way), so I can’t vouch for the crust, but I thought the directions gave really helpful detail and we loved the pie! I don’t think I’ll want to have banana cream pie with boxed pudding ever again after making this yummy fresh vanilla pudding from scratch.
