Browned beef prior to crock pot and added about 1/4 cup Pinot noir finished in a bourbon barrel. Cooked overnight for eight hours though could have used a little less time. Beef cubes, and veg broke down quite a bit. Excellent consistency though with all ingredients cooked down like they did.

It needs salt and pepper! It didn't say to do so in the recipe. I added more carrots and also some celery. I think the longer cooking, the better.
