This was a very frustrating experience.
The list of ingredients didn’t jibe with the recipe. The recipe lists grated aged cheddar and tarragon. The instructions call for mustard, but it isn’t a listed ingredient and to add thyme. is it thyme or tarragon? The instructions also refer to adding mushrooms, although they aren’t a listed ingredient and there is no addition of the grated cheese.
If this was a newbie cook who hadn’t made this sort of entree before, it could be very confusing. It took a tremendous amount of time toggling back and forth to try and figure out what was going on. Crazy.
That said, I think it will be tasty.

I had to deviate from the recipe quite a bit. My frozen fillo dough was expired so I had to make my own pastry crust.
Considering that I had never before cooked with leeks or tarragon, or made a bechamel sauce, it turned out pretty well!
Mine was pretty loaded with veggies, so it could have used a little more milk to make the sauce creamier. Will definitely be trying this again.
